My Story

Hi! My name is Kelan Amme, and I am a candidate for a Master of Information concentrating in Archives and Preservation at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

As an aspiring Archivist and Public Historian, much of my inspiration came from my love of history growing up. Just about every summer, my family and I traveled across the United States in our travel trailer to different locations and regions, usually with my grandparents and cousins towing ahead of us. Oftentimes we would all pick out a place to visit, which usually led to us visiting a historical site, museum, monument, or national/state park.

It is because of my continued desire to learn and explore new avenues that I am sharing this website!

Experience

As a graduate student, I am currently searching for part-time jobs in the public history field, more specifically in archival and public history work, oral histories, and digital media/content creation. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have had the opportunity to utilize archives, digital media, Geographic Information Systems, and other tools to better the public's view of a historical topic.

I currently work as a student assistant at the Rutgers Special Collections and University Archives, and as an office assistant for the continuing and professional studies office of the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University. For a full list of my relative work experience, please click here.
